Patience and Choice
This recipe is a good opportunity to talk about two things: patience and choice. There is no wrong way to make chili. I’m sure you could produce a chili recipe that neither yourself nor others would enjoy with no excessive effort. But there’s also a good chance you’ll produce a reasonably tasty result. Chicken Soup for a Cold Day

Cold and icy here in Lincoln today, so I thought it time to do a ala Dan Bauer. I think my Mom makes better. Her secret is do the vegetables once to make the broth, strain them off, and then add new ones to make a vitamin and flavor-packed miracle broth. But that’s her recipe, and I digress. You will see in one of the photos that my buddy Snoop thought it smelled quite good…

GTFO – Golden Toasty French Onion

It’s been really cold and we got a decent snow this week. As a result I’ve been dipping into some comfort foods. One thing that’s great on a cold day is a nice big bowl of French Onion . It’s really not that difficult to make, and it’s bottom-slurping good. I’ve been really disappointed lately, because despite having some interesting meals and gatherings, I’ve been suffering from a broken camera. Well, I’ve finally purchased a new one! So, I’ve got not just a couple photos this round, it’s actually an overabundance of them.
